Jacques Lemaire returns.
So the Devils' "major announcement" today was the re-hiring of Jacques Lemaire, the man behind the bench in 1995 when New Jersey first hoisted the Stanley Cup.

I don't know what to make of this yet. The team has different personnel now than back then, but I still believe Lou knows what he is doing.

Also, the League has a major announcement of their own on Wednesday from Fenway Park. I'd originally thought both major announcements were on the same day, which led me to believe they might be related. I'm assuming the League's announcement is that the Bruins will host an outdoor game at Fenway this season; I'd imagine that the opponent would not be a Northeast Division team (as the Canadian teams are likely to host themselves at some point, and Buffalo has already; also the Canadiens have played in the fist outdoor regular season game at Edmonton), so an Atlantic team would fit, and the Devils have more rivalry with Boston than the Islanders do (Pittsburgh has played away, and I think the Rangers will host year after next, if they keep alternating conferences).
